Varvara Kalinin

Varvara has been teaching movement for 20 years. She received her formal Pilates training in Los Angeles, through Long Beach Dance Conditioning with the renowned Marie Jose Lawrence Blom, in 2001. Alongside Pilates education, she is a certified Gyrotonic Level 1 trainer, Thai massage practitioner and certified Buff Bones trainer (protocols of Osteoporosis and bone health).
Always seeking to continue her education, Varvara has completed numerous trainings in:

This knowledge gives her the ability to guide clients through exercise for pain relief, injury prevention, post rehab and pre/post natal protocols.
With training in both scientific and artistic studies of movement she creates a supportive and fun environment to explore and understand the human body.
Varvara was born in Moscow and raised in Los Angeles, New York, and Australia, and she comes from a family of professional dancers. Her parents both are graduates of the Bolshoi Academy and former dancers of the Moiseyev Ballet Theatre.
After receiving her BFA from Stephens College in Theatre she spent over 10 years performing with various dance and theatre companies around the country.
Since leaving the performing world, Varvara has dedicated her life to helping people discover the joy and freedom of movement through refined and intelligent exercise methods.
