Certified Mat Instructor
Kelsey is a lifelong athlete with a passion for diverse movement practices. Before discovering Pilates, she spent several years doing group fitness classes and CrossFit, where she honed her skills in Olympic lifting. Looking to complement her strength with practical self-defense skills, she began training in kickboxing and jiu-jitsu at Tiger Schulmann’s. Kelsey has trained in martial arts for over a decade eventually earning her black belt and teaches kickboxing.
Her journey into Pilates began after she sustained a knee injury and was looking for a low-impact movement practice to support her recovery. She was immediately drawn to Pilates’ emphasis on control, concentration, and the mind-body connection, which are principles that closely parallel those of martial arts. Kelsey went on to complete the 135-hour Mat Pilates certification through Perfect Posture Pilates, studying under Master Teacher Varvara Kalinin.
