Vannesa
Certified Comprehensive Pilates Teacher
Hometown: Woodside, NY
Education: 🌟 I have my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx, NY. I practiced as a Registered Nurse, with a history of working in different inpatient units, including the ICU and outpatient ambulatory surgery center. I’m a certified 500 Hour comprehensive Pilates instructor through Perfect Posture Pilates, trained and mentored under Varvara Kalinin. In addition to Pilates, I am also certified to teach group reformed-based fitness through FORM50 Fitness.
Why do I practice Pilates? 🌟
Pilates allows me to reconnect with my body through breath work and mindful movement. It has helped me focus, stay in the moment, and let my body flow through as it was intended to be. After a time of intentional slow movement patterns, breath work, and gradual progressions, Pilates helped me feel confident and connected within myself after my pregnancy.
Why do I teach Pilates? 🌟
With my background as a nurse/healthcare, I always love to help others! Teaching Pilates and fitness in general allows me to provide that same support! Pilates is such a beautiful practice, and I want to empower my clients to feel the best version of themselves through their journey.
What to expect from my Private sessions and group classes? 🌟
As your instructor, my goal is to make you feel safe & seen while providing a comforting and encouraging environment. I’ll apply Joseph Pilates’ principle/repertoire while still keeping up with the latest evidence-based practice to make Pilates tailored for you. I provide hands-on adjustments if allowed, to make sure you are in the correct position and alignment. During our private sessions, I’ll get to learn about you & how your body moves, your goals with Pilates, and give you guidance to help you reach those goals. During my group classes, you’ll expect a fusion of classical and contemporary flows with hints of functional strength movement patterns, while providing modifications and progressions to make sure you feel good and strong during and after the class.
